A busy Victorian townhouse reworked to create an elegant, functional space

Maximising functionality was key to this reconfiguration, which included collaborating on a split-level loft conversion, plus reworking a family bathroom and turning the entrance hall into an elegant space that could withstand the wear and tear of a busy home. There, we paired midnight blue panelling with a dense, small scale repeat wallpaper to create a crisp, softly contemporary feel, while slim iron spindles add natural elegance. In the main bathroom, white herringbone walls are a natural foil to matte black tapware, while upstairs in the loft, walls were moved and openings reworked to create a more generous ensuite with adjoining bedroom. A palette of blues and greys maintains cohesion throughout, complemented by simple, graphic shapes.
