A busy Victorian townhouse reworked to create an elegant, functional space

Maximising functionality was key to this reconfiguration, which included collaborating on a split-level loft conversion, plus reworking a family bathroom and turning the entrance hall into an elegant space that could withstand the wear and tear of a busy home. There, we paired midnight blue panelling with a dense, small scale repeat wallpaper to create a crisp, softly contemporary feel, while slim iron spindles add natural elegance. In the main bathroom, white herringbone walls are a natural foil to matte black tapware, while upstairs in the loft, walls were moved and openings reworked to create a more generous ensuite with adjoining bedroom. A palette of blues and greys maintains cohesion throughout, complemented by simple, graphic shapes.

“Krys was the godsend to our loft renovation I didn’t even know I needed! She understood my style, even when I struggled to put it into words, and brought creativity, precision, and expertise to every detail. She maximized our space, budget, and builder’s work to create a home beyond our dreams. Highly recommend for any design project—big or small!”
