Our Philosophy

Inspirational and functional spaces with an emphasis on natural materials and a seamless blend of form and function is the mantra behind our London-based interior design studio. Led by Krystyna Martin-Dominguez, K Space works from the ground up, managing large-scale builds as well as bijou renovations, with an emphasis on rooting each project distinctly within its locale.

We are concept driven and detail oriented.

Texture, both architectural and decorative, is an important element of our work. The studio is known for its sense of earthy materiality and its ability to adapt to the needs and desires of its clients. We draw on a wide network of industry professionals and local artisans to create homes that elevate daily life.

About

Krystyna Martin-Dominguez MSc(Econ), GradDID, BIID RegID

Studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design, part of the University of the Arts London, obtaining Distinction in Spatial and Interior Design. She worked as an Interior Designer for an award-winning London based architectural practice before setting up K Space in 2018.

Much of her work is rooted in blending old pieces with new; conceiving unusual solutions to spatial issues, investing in traditional craftsmanship and focusing on adequate, integrated storage that plays to the architectural silhouette of a space. She has a passion for eco-friendly solutions, creative upcycling and sustainable design – a recent end-of-terrace project, for example, saw the addition of a pitched brick and steel extension intended to weather gracefully, complemented by exposed brick, plaster finishes and aged brass. Relaxed, functional kitchens and bathrooms are a stock in trade: from softly industrial spaces to schemes noted for their serenity.

“By upcycling and using reclaimed objects, we protect the past and make it a part of daily life. We use different textures and give forgotten furnishings new meaning and function.”
